”This product gets such a bad rep, but it is truly an effective and elegant product. This vitamin c gave me a serous glow. I mean a people ask me are you pregnant glow (I’m not), a what’s your secret glow. I love the texture, the transient grittiness gives a mild physical exfoliation (something I’ve stopped doing since incorporating deciem products). The active penetrates well and works. I use a small amount and since combining this with the resveratol ferulic acid it is out of this world!! Give the combo a try. Eventually your skin will look so good you won’t need makeup and you won’t have a problem with the texture meshing with other products!!”

”Ok this stuff rocks. The product itself I expected to be gritty and just not that elegant. Almost bought the other 30% formula. Glad I tried this one. The powder that seems to be a problem for others isn’t for me. In fact I find this formula to be not grainy in texture at all. It’s a light lotion feeling with a touch of vit c powder that dissipates within a minute. This is the best ascorbic acid with the highest strength in what I feel is an elegant feeling lotion formula. The fact that it’s less than ten dollars makes this seem unreal. Seeing is believing.”

WHAT YOU GET: (1) Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres
INGREDIENTS: Ascorbic Acid, Squalane, Isodecyl Neopentanoate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Coconut Alkanes, Ethylene/Propylene/Styrene Copolymer, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glucomannan, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Butylene/Ethylene/Styrene Copolymer, Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Trihydroxystearin, BHT

Formulations are updated from time to time as part of our commitment to innovation. As such, the ingredient list shown here may vary from the box of the product depending on time and region of purchase.

Apply a small amount to face in the AM or the PM. A tingling sensation can be expected after application. If the sensation is too strong to tolerate, the formula can be mixed on each application with other creams or serums of your preference.

Note: The format of this formula is a suspension of very fine L-Ascorbic Acid powder and, as such, provides the most direct exposure of extremely high concentrations of Vitamin C topically. With such format, there are 2 important things to consider:

1) A very strong tingling, but non-irritating sensation is expected during the first 1-2 weeks of use until the skin’s tolerance to such high exposure is elevated. If the sensation is too strong to tolerate, the formula can be mixed on each application with other creams or serums of your preference.

2) The powder exposure to the skin disallows the formula to feel like a serum, lotion, or cream and each application requires a few seconds to feel absorbed by the skin. This formula feels gritty for a few seconds after application. If you prefer to avoid this gritty feel, we suggest the Vitamin C Suspension 30% in Silicone.

Great vitamin product on a budget

Great vitamin product on a budget! I do notice a difference the next morning after applying it into my acne scars. Depending on how I’m feeling, sometimes I’ll mix this in with a moisturizer or I’ll apply directly onto my face. There is a learning curve as too much of the product being moved/rubbed around will start to pill. I recommend if you aren’t mixing it with something else to tap the product instead of rubbing. If you haven’t used a concentrated vitamin c product like this before, you should definitely slowly introduce this into your routine as there will be discomfort/stinging sensation that shouldn’t last too long.

let’s see

I think it’s too early for me to rate this product. I received my package yesterday and I am very excited to to try this out. I applied it yesterday during my night time routine and this morning my skin felt brighter. That doesn’t happen with one use of any vit c so I am looking forward to use it more and see the difference. I gotta be honest about the texture though! It’s quite rough for those who have sensitive skin. When it comes to vit c everyone thinks it’s light weight. But this is a creamy with grimy texture to it, first when I apply I felt like I was scrubbing my face. Maybe that’s the technique they want to implement on this product to exfoliate and apply at the same time? 🤷‍♀️ I don’t know! But let’s see I need to use this more!

fade my hyperpigmentation

I use this every other morning mixed with Ferulic Acid to boost the effects. It has a gritty texture on its own, but it’s less obvious when mixed. It sinks into my skin quickly (I use it after cleanser and toner, before moisturizer and sunscreen) and seems to be helping fade my hyperpigmentation. I took one star off because I don’t love the packaging. I think this would work better in a bottle with a dropper or an airless pump bottle. The cap gets messy!

Worth the try

I have been using this product for about 5 nights now and I can say that my skin has improved. Some of my pimple scars have disappeared and dark spots have lightened. My skin also looks smoother and glowing. The scent doesn’t bother me at all contrary to what I’ve read from other reviews. Although it doesn’t smell sweet, it smells clean.

First started my journey with The Ordinary by using their lactic serum, which I was pretty pleased about so I decided to try out another one. I was looking into corporating Vit C in my routine and thought this might be a good item to try. So far, I'm happy with it. For three weeks I applied this after my balancing lotion and got good results. My skin looked brighter and more even. It didn't make my face oily either. Two things I don't like about it is its texture (very rough, like some sort of beads in it?) And the smell!

I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it as well. It does the job, I’m just not a fan of the gritty feel. I normally put vit C after my moisturizer, but with this it just makes all the other products on my skin crumble like scum. What I do, I put a pea size amount on my fingers, rub it together and gently pat it on my face. I also think that it doesn’t really absorbs or set on my face.
